Trip to the Hospital

We had little scare this week! They thought that I had a seizure while I was at work on Wednesday. I was having a normal day at work. I was feeling like my normal self. About 11:00 I started to feel very nauseated. I got up to go get some crackers and a sprite. I couldn't make it down the hallway. I started to feel very dizzy and to see dots. I got the attention of another nurse and she sat me down in a chair. The last thing I remember was telling them that I felt like I was going to pass out. When I woke back up there were 10 people standing around me. They all started asking me if I had ever had a seizure before. I said, "NO WHY?" The nurse looked at me and said well we are pretty sure you just had one. They said that my eyes rolled back in my head and I started having convulsions. They called my OB and she said to take me to the Baptist ER immediately. They also called Phillip and asked him to come up to my work. He was a nervous wreck. He beat me to the ER at Children's. By the time they got me down there he was waiting on me. He took me to the Baptist ER. They ran a lot of test. I was so worried about Dawson. I just kept asking them to please do an Ultrasound and make sure he was ok. They just kept telling me that they needed to make sure that I was ok first. They did an EKG and CT scan that both came back normal. All of my blood work looked normal. Then a labor and delivery nurse came to assess me. We got to hear Dawson's heart beat which was so reassuring! His heart beat was strong and steady! I also had an Ultrasound done just to make sure everything was ok. Dawson looked great! He was kicking around like nothing had ever even happened. He is measuring 24wks which is a week ahead of what I actually am. They estimated that he weighs approximately 1 lb 8oz! I was so very relieved to know that everything was good with him. But the ER doctor and my OB decided that they wanted to keep me over night to monitor Dawson and me. They also wanted me to meet with a Neurologist to determine if  he thinks that I did have a seizure. I was pretty sad that I had to spend the night. I was exhausted from being in the ER for six hours and being transported from test to test and I was pretty nervous that they wanted to watch me over night. It made me think that they thought something was really wrong. We finally got to our room around 6:45 Wednesday night. They gave me an Ambien to help me sleep but I don't think either one of us slept very well. Around 8:00 the next morning they took me for an EEG to take a better look at my brain. Right before the EEG I had another episode. I felt the exact same way that I had the previous day before I passed out. I felt so bad because Phillip was in the room with me and I did not want him to have to see me like that. I knew that he would be scared for life if he saw his wife laying on the examine table convulsing. But thankfully I did not pass out this time. After the EEG was complete they rushed me back to the Labor and Delivery floor and actually moved me to a room that was closer to the nurses station so they could monitor us more closely. I was pretty shook up after this episode because I was really hoping that this would be a one time thing. We were told that the Neurologist would be around soon to let us know the results of the test. It was a long day! We didn't see the Neurologist until 3:00 Thursday afternoon. He did a neurological examine on me and decided that he does not think that I had a seizure. My EEG was normal. He said that sometimes when you pass out you can have symptoms like a seizure because your brain is without oxygen. I was out for about 30 seconds which is a long time when you are staring at someone who is convulsing. He diagnosed me with pregnancy induced syncope. He thinks that I might have been a little dehydrated and that I stood up to quickly and my blood pressure could not adjust. We were so relived to know that I did not have a seizure. I still have to be very careful about not moving around too fast especially going from sitting to standing.  We were discharged home about 5:30 Thursday evening. Phillip stayed home with me again today to make sure that I am taking it easy. He has been absolutely wonderful. I can't imagine going through all of this without him. We don't have any plans this weekend. We are just going to take it easy and get some rest. Thanks so much for all of the text and calls these past couple of days. We appreciate all of the thoughts and prayers. We also enjoyed everyone's company that came to visit us at the hospital. We are so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends. Here's a picture of me at the hospital. Phillip thought we needed to document our little trip.

20 Weeks Pregnant

I'm 20 weeks today! Half way there! I can't believe it! It has seriously flown by! Since I just updated last week not a whole lot has changed! I did tell Phillip that our little guy was moving around like crazy yesterday morning while I was working! This is really the first time I have been able to really feel him moving during the day! He may have been able to sense all the craziness that was happening at the hospital! As soon as the snow started falling the atmosphere completely changed. Everyone goes into panic mode! Patient families and co-workers all worried about how we were going to make it home! Thankfully my wonderful Husband dropped me off and picked me up! We made it home safely! Having a vehicle with 4WD is a life saver! I do have one Surprise Announcement! Phillip and I have decided on a name! This has been Phillip's #1 pick the whole time. I love the name but it took me so time to say OK let's do it! I'm not very good at making decisions. We have decided to name our son:

                   Dawson Gregory Davis

Dawson- son of David.

Gregory- is a family name. Gregory is my brother Landon's middle name. Phillip and I love the idea of family names. I can't even begin to explain the excitment of my dad and brother that we are having a little boy. Landon keeps saying that we need some more boys in our family. He currently has three sisters and three nieces.

Davis- son of David.

Hope everyone is staying warm in all this snow!!! I go back to the doctor on February 24th! I'll post again then!

19 Weeks Today!

I'm 19 weeks Pregnant today! We had our Ultrasound this morning! Our little guy is still looking great! He's growing wonderfully! He is 12 oz  and 5 1/2 inch long crown to rump. I have a feeling we are gonna have a big baby boy! But that's perfectly fine with me as long as he's healthy!

Movement: I have started feeling him move! Its absolutely amazing and so reassuring! I don't feel him very much during the day but when I get in bed at night I feel him moving around. He was very active during our ultrasound this morning! I can't wait until Phillip gets to feel him move!

Feeling: I'm still feeling great! My energy level is still up. I'm getting really excited about planning his nursery. I can't wait to start shopping for baby furniture, bedding and cute decorations. I've had a little bit of lower back pain but nothing too bad. I purchased a body pillow from Baby R Us and it has seemed to really help with the pain.

Food: I haven't really had any craving yet. I enjoy the same foods I always have! I'm eating good and our little guy is growing great!

Gifts: I got to see Jessica last weekend and she brought Baby Davis the sweetest little outfits! It was so good to get to see her. The little outfits she got him are from Baby Gap. I can't wait for him to wear all of them!

Also, at our Gender Reveal Party My Aunt Teresa gave us some really cute Razorback shoes and my Cousin Megan gave us some cute Blue Boots!

I got to spend some good quality time with my parents and Nanaw last weekend. I enjoy getting to spend time with all of them. Phillip went Duck hunting with his Dad. While I was in Conway my mom and I did a little shopping. She had a knee replacement about three weeks ago and hasn't really been able to get out much but we went shopping a little last weekend. This is something that I've really missed because its something my mom and I have enjoyed doing together for a long time. I know she's dying to get out and buy things for our little one. She bought me a baby book on Saturday from Trendy Kidz in Conway. I love it! It's really cute and has a lot of good pages in it. I've already started filling it out!
She also got us these cute little socks!

I made a little purchase this week. I found the cutest stuffed animal in the gift shop at Arkansas Children's Hospital. I just couldn't resist! I had to buy it! It will be so cute in our little boy's nursery!

16 weeks

I was 16 weeks on Thursday January 13th!  We scheduled an appointment to go to Baby Views. We were so excited to find out the sex of our baby and really anxious to just get to see our little one! It was so reassuring! Our baby looked great! The baby continues to have a good strong heart beat of 154. She showed us the heart, brain, spinal cord, fingers, toes, face and many other things. She said that everything looked perfect! It was absolutely amazing to see our baby just moving around! It's so weird at this point because I can't feel the baby moving yet! After many discussions Phillip and I decided that we were not going to find out the sex of our baby at our Ultrasound appointment! Instead the Ultrasound Tech wrote the sex of our baby on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope. I took the envelope to Patti Cakes Bakery and they made my cake! The inside of the cake will either be pink or blue depending on the sex! We decided that we wanted to share this special moment with our family and friends! We are so glad that we waited! We had such a good turn out and such a fun party! We decided to have our party on Saturday night January 15th so it would be easier for some of our family to get here! I can't wait to find out!

Doctor's Appointment

Thursday December 30th we went to our second doctor's appointment! Phillip took the day off work and was able to go with me! This was a short and sweet visit! We got to hear the baby's heart beat! It was beating at 155 beats per minute! It was so amazing to hear such a sweet sound! Phillip recorded the heart beat so I can listen to it whenever I want! I think I've already played it five times! We are so blessed that our baby is doing good! We go back to the doctor in four weeks! Please continue to keep our family in your prayers!

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas! We were so fortunate to get to spend so much time with both of our families. Our Christmas started on Wednesday morning December 22nd when we headed to Eldorado. We really enjoyed getting to spend so much time with the Davises! Here are some pictures from our Christmas in Eldorado!

Christmas Eve P.K cooked a wonderful dinner as always! Then we opened presents from each other! Christan is at such a fun age to watch him open presents. We all really enjoyed watching him. Then we shot fireworks! This was a new and fun tradition to me!

Christmas morning we went over to Leslie and Melissa's house to watch Christan open all his presents from Santa! We had all planned on getting there around 7:30 but Melissa called at 6:30 and said "He's Up!" He was so excited about all his presents! His big present that Santa brought this year was a real fourwheeler! He loved it! We all went outside and watched him ride it! Then we headed to Conway for Lunch at Nanaw's House with all of the McConnell's!

We enjoyed another wonderful meal! It's always fun to get to visit with everyone on the McConnell side of the family! We ate lunch and then opened presents. Around 3:00pm we headed across the street to my mom and dad's house to do Christmas with them. I think my brother was a little sad that he did get to open his stocking bright and early like usual! Instead he waited on me! After Christmas with Mom, Dad, and Landon we headed to Perryville for dinner!

We enjoyed another fabulous meal with the Ezell family! Doesn't my grandmother look great! I hope that I still look that good at 92 yrs old! She is such an amazing women! I look forward to several more Christmas's with her! After we left Perryville our day still wasn't close to over! When we got back to Conway all the McConnell's were waiting to get to see Reese and Riley! So we went back over to Nanaw's house to let them open there presents with the McConnell's! Then back to Mom and Dad's house to open more presents! We did Christmas with Heather, Steve, Reese and Riley! It is so much fun to watch little one's open presents! After opening several packages, putting in batteries, and having a few tea parties we were finally in bed around 11:30! Sunday was a relaxing afternoon with Mom, Dad, Landon, Heather, Steve, Reese and Riley! We couldn't have asked for a more wonderful Christmas! We are so lucky to be able to fit all of our family into one day!
